LookBook: Ready for Business

4.7.14
READY FOR BUSINESS

What do you usually wear to work? My style varies~ Everyone at work is pretty laid back, so instead of needing to dress all "office lady" like, I get to play with colors and patterns. Yay! Despite that, I usually stick with darker colors, cause at the end of the day, I am working at a professional environment and there's no reason for me to stick out too much with vibrant colors! =)

So... here's one of the outfits I have worn to work in:

Out of the many outfits I've worn to work, this is probably one of my favorite! First of all, I'd like to mention how much I love emerald and purple together. I think green and purple are one of the prettiest color combinations that exist, and I think that the shade of green and purple I am wearing match well in a way that they give off a sense of sophistication.

The top I am wearing is a two piece 100% silk blouse from a brand named Tess. I love how light the fabric feels. It's currently Spring right now, and I think this blouse definitely goes perfectly with the semi-hot/chilly Cali weather! =) As for pants, I'm wearing one of my favorite pair of geometric like trousers from Forever21. The high waistline accentuates my curves and gives my legs an elongated illusion! (Who wouldn't like that? lol!)

As for accessories, I wore gold arm candy and a statement necklace that adds a little more excitement and elegance to my look and completed my outfit with a bright brown leather bag that adds a nice pop of earthly color. To finish everything off, I wore my quiet yet attention grabbing black pointed heels!

Growing up, I always had the image in my head of business ladies wearing black/blue blazers and trousers/dress pants to work. Now that I'm a working adult, I've learned that the stereotypical image I had in my head was only a painted picture I've developed from movies I've watched as a kid and that dressing up for work can be extremely fun! =) Yep!

LookBook: Winterless California

12.30.13
WINTERLESS CALIFORNIA

It's common for Californians to say that the Golden State rarely gets that cold during the Winter... and I can't agree more with that saying this Winter.  For the first time in my life... I experienced Christmas at nearly 80 degrees.  While others get to experience a white Christmas, I find myself dressing the same amount clothing I would dress during the Summer... interesting huh?

Anyway, what styles have you guys been enjoying lately?  To my surprise I've actually been really loving the street style.  I don't know why... maybe it's because I'm always very conservatively dressed and covered at work... that it's nice being able to throw on some comfy casuals and still feel awesome and stylish during the weekends!  =)

Today, I went for a laid-back street look!  I started my outfit off with a basic long sleeve shirt from Charlotte Russe, and matched it with a pair of high waisted denim shorts that I thrifted from Goodwill earlier this Summer (seriously my favorite thrift-find! =)).  To add some color to my outfit, I threw on common red, white, and blue plaid button down that I recently did some revamping to. (Removed long sleeves & shortened)

I actually felt amazing in this outfit!  Throughout this half a year, I've been going for a loose top & tight bottom look... and after hiding any slight curve of mine for so long, it feels nice to finally wear an outfit that is more form fitting!

As for accessories, I wore my favorite belt to add some shape to my waist-line, threw on some fun jewelry, and finished my outfit off with a casual everyday purse and one of my current favorite booties from Jeffrey Campbell!

Yep, and that's it to my Outfit of the Day! =)

2013 is coming to an end, and it's quite mind-boggling to think that a new year will be starting in the matter of a few hours!  I've learned and experienced so much this year... it's pretty ridiculous.  But nonetheless, I believe everything happens for a reason.  Whether it's something good that happened or something bad that came about... I'm positive that all that I've experienced made me into a stronger and better person!  I hope everyone cherishes their last few moments of 2013, and prepare yourselves for a new beginning!  =)

Good Night!

LookBook: Longing For Yesterday

10.27.13
LONGING FOR YESTERDAY

It's a fact that Summer's ended already, but as expected, Fall still feels pretty warm in Sunny California! lol  I've been really loving the weather lately, and I've been enjoying my weekends the most... cause not only can I relax, but I can also have fun with my outfits! =)

The look I put together today gave me a nostalgic feeling.  Though I'm still young and haven't been through a lot in life LOL, it reminds me of the past.... and brings sparks of old memories in my head.  I'm not exactly sure what inspired me to put this outfit together, but nonetheless, I love it! =)

I started my outfit off, with an old-school dress that I bought from Forever21 a few years back! =)  I love everything about this dress!!!... I love how comfortable it is, the way it fits, the way it looks, and the pattern on it!  The dress came without a belt...so I paired it with a purple belt that I had in my closet!

Here's a close-up of my light makeup, the jewelry I wore, and a better view of how the pattern on the dress looks like!  I wore a simple and dainty gold butterfly necklace, a gold ring, and a gold bracelet for jewelry, and matched my outfit with a vintage purse that I thrifted at Goodwill (Seriously one of the best finds ever!!)

To finish my outfit off, I wore my new pair of flats from Nine West! =)  (They seriously match with everything!)

PURSE: GOODWILL

Anyway, as always I hope everyone has been doing well!  I've been a busy bee like usual... and I guess it's really during the weekend where I can just relax and be me again! =)  haha not sure if that makes sense... but what I'm trying to say is that... my work has nothing to do with clothing and accessorizing... so it just feels good to be able to do what I love on my days off!  Writing a blog post feels so great!  I hope everyone has a really relaxing night!  I'm going to relax for the rest of the night, and perhaps even watch a korean drama! =) hehe
Good Night!

LookBook: HOT PINK DELIGHT

09.14.2013
HOT PINK DELIGHT

As many of us know, A-line skirts have been beyond popular!  Many people are wearing them... and I don't know what I was thinking about not trying on this trend until now!  I'll most likely write up another entry regarding my love for A-line skirts, but for now... all I have to say is that I'm absolutely in love with the trend, and I'm practically hooked! LOL =)

I had so much fun with today's outfit.  To me, Summer is all about simplicity!  It's the season where we honestly don't need to layer a lot of pieces on, and just let the simplicity of our basics shine! =)  Along with my black A-line skirt, I wore a shoulder cut-out blue and grey top that is crazily comfortable!

As for accessorize, I wore a cute silver heart pendant necklace from Pac Sun, and finished off my look with my new  pair of striking hot pink heels from Chromatic Gallerie! =)

Omgoodness... aren't the pink flowers beautiful?? (FYI: They match my shoes!)

My all-time favorites for the Summer have always been short shorts, short skirts, or short dresses!  Summer's coming to an end in about a week, which is crazy, but I'm so excited to transition my favorites pieces for the cooler seasons!  =)  I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend, and I will talk to you guys real soon! =)

LookBook: ALMOST MONOCHROME

08.08.2013
ALMOST MONOCHROME

I've been such a busy bee lately, and because of that, I've been really into business attire! LOL does that even make sense?  Anyway, there are times that call for casual and comfy attire, and there are others that call for a more dressed up and sophisticated look.  I always liked the combination of purple and black together, but for some reason I just never thought about putting those colors together for an outfit until recently!

This is probably one of my ideal business attires for summer!  Long sleeves because it'd get cold in the office, but ironically an office rarely surpasses 75 degrees Fahrenheit.. which means it won't be that warm either!  =)  Aside from loving the color combination, I chose this blouse because 1) It looks absolutely adorable and gorgeous 2) It's not too tight fitting for work and 3) There really isn't a three.. I just love it! =)

As for the bottom half of my outfit, I decided to go with a classic pencil skirt... however.. for a twist, I decided to spice up my outfit by choosing a minimalist skirt that's almost monochrome!  For some reason black and white is too big of a contrast for me, so instead of the skirt being color-blocked with black and white, it's actually champagne colored and black! =)

To top things off, I accessorized my outfit with a beautiful floral lace black purse and a beautiful metal chain pearl necklace!  Keeping things trendy, I chose a daring color for my nails... a golden canary yellow color!  (Not sure if I'd actually wear this color to work though =P LOL)

To finish my outfit off, I went with a pair of minimalist stilettos that are totally killer and match perfectly with my skirt! =)  To be honest though, these were pretty tricky to walk in... but hey... after a few trials I think I'll be able to get the hang of things!

This is probably my favorite outfit out of the bunch of LookBook OOTDs!  Though it's not something that I would enjoy wearing regularly... cause I'm so into comfort, I wouldn't mind wearing it once in a while! =)

Lol.. I'm not sure what to say about this picture!  But yah, it's my new profile picture! =D

Anyway, this is it to my post.  Look at me cheesin' up in from of the camera! (Yes I felt awkward!) haha it was actually a little embarrassing for me!  I was posing at the park for the first time, and there were so many people walking pass me and looking at me... haha I wouldn't blame them though cause seriously, who would wear something like this to the park?  And what's hilarious about the picture above are the three people practicing Tai Chi in the back!  haha hope they don't mind being in my picture!

Anyway, as always I hope everyone has been doing well! =)  I have!  I've been quite busy lately as I've mentioned above, but honestly... I'd rather be busy than have nothing to do.  Life is short, and it's important to make most of each opportunity I have!  Thanks for reading this post, and talk to you guys later! =) <3

California's Dry Weather = Me Pampering Myself With a Facial Mask

It's currently nearing midnight.. and I'm spending the rest of my night before sleeping doing the obvious...  blogging LOL. =)  You guys can't see, but I'm actually pampering myself with a wondering facial mask right now that will hopefully replenish my skin with all the moisture it needs! =)

As we all know, California is known for it's sunshine and "wonderful" weather!  It's true that we get all the vitamin D we need...but seriously... the humidity is super low... which causes my skin to be super dry throughout the year!  And with it being Summer, my skin is probably crying for help without me know.  =(  Hence ... me treating myself to a facial mask! =)

Anyway, enough with that.  I've been away from my blog for a couple of weeks now... and sigh... I've been pretty busy lately!  I think my life can be a roller coaster sometimes, there's always something new that comes in and out of my life, and it just takes me some time to adjust to everything!  Hopefully everything will tone down soon... and I'll be able to add my blogging time into my daily schedule! =)

Oh! Below is my outfit of the day & my nails of the weeks! =)

Please excuse my OOTD's picture quality!  haha I actually had it taken with my the camera on my new phone, which I'm pretty disappointed with.  Anyway, I think this outfit totally reflects my style.. laid back and comfy!  =)

And these are my nails of the week, aren't they adorable?  =)  haha I'm absolutely in love with my nails.. too bad they've starting chipping!

Yep, this is it to my little update! =)  I hope everyone has been doing well, and have a wonderful week!  Good Night, and it's time for my to remove my mask!! =)

JEWEL TONES HERE JEWEL TONES THERE

I wanted to blog about my Outfit of the Day tomorrow, but for some reason...I just can't fall asleep.  haha Perhaps my day wouldn't feel complete unless I blogged about my outfit? lol  Anyway, for those who have read my previous blog post (HERE), the topic was about Summer 2013's fashion trend - Maxi Dresses, and how I'm totally in love with them! =)  And I guess with that being said, it's no surprise that my next OOTD would include none other than me wearing my current favorite Maxi Dress! =)

This dress...is absolutely gorgeous!  The Jewel Tones are absolutely beautiful, and when I saw it on the rack, I just couldn't say no to buying it!  I'm a huge fan of the nature, and the natural vibrant jewel tones LOL childishly made me feel like a Naturistic Fairy Garden Princess...or something along that line! =)  haha nothing looks better with this dress than Nature's Greens and Sunny Light!

My dress is a statement piece alone and is quite versatile, and because I didn't want to look overly dressed up, I went easy with the accessorizing... What I basically did was throw on my Aztec-like sandles that helped dress down my outfit (but matched at the same time), and finished my look off with a beautiful stone necklace from Monet!

I used to never wear Maxi Dresses, because I thought they were only for formal wear, and were too difficult to pull off.  I realized that as I've grown older, I've become more daring with my attire.  I've started to try clothing pieces that I would use to say "never" to, and I'm so glad that I'm exploring the different paths of fashion! =) haha

I feel more myself than ever! =)

Lol, and of course, this post wouldn't be complete without a headshot of me "actually" smiling! =)  I had such a wonderful time hanging out with my friends this Summer, and I would like to give a big thank you to my wonderful photographer for taking pictures for me!!! =)
(Fun Fact: I can't wait to take my braces offff!!!!)

Alright...I think my day is complete now... GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!
