First Time Flower Arranging: I FOUND A HOBBY!

You know... there are so many aspects that make up a person's life. I'm talking about family, friends, hobbies, career, adventures, haha you get the gist.

Well, the "hobbies" part of my life has seriously disintegrated into almost nothing since I entered college. I remember "back in the days" I used to be so much more adventurous. I actually had hobbies, the 2 main ones being dancing and singing. Prior to college, I actually danced for 10 years and participated in my school choir. For choir, I traveled throughout California and out of country to compete. I dedicated so much time and effort into these 2 hobbies, and I enjoyed them so much, especially singing. I wasn't by any means amazing at singing, but something about it just gave me so much fulfillment. Once I graduated from high school, I literally dropped both hobbies to focus in school. I was so determined to excel in my courses and begin my career, that I left myself without a hobby. I didn't have a hobby for at least 5 years. Isn't that crazy? It wasn't until recently that I decided to make a change, and I found a hobby, FLOWER ARRANGEMENT! <3

That hobby came spontaneously, and I'm honestly not sure how it came about. I might be wrong, but I think Christina and I wanted to plan something fun for our 10 years friendship anniversary. LOL haha we're cute, I know! :) I'm pretty sure it was me who brought the flower arrangement idea up. I mean... I've always loved flowers, and with my DIY nature, I kind of wanted to try flower arranging out. Also, since it was our 10 years annivesary, I thought it'd be cute if we arranged flowers and gave them to one another. With that said, we went to the LA Flower District over the weekend to buy flowers.

Okay enough talking, here's the final result!

Ta-daaaaaaa~~~

I absolutely love it! haha I know I know... I made it, so of course I love it. I have to say... I was extremely daring with all the colors and textures. I literally walked into the flower district with zero inspiration, and I'm pretty surprised with how it turned out. I ended up with a very festive fall bouquet. I think it might be a bit dramatic for casual gift giving, and it might be a little too exotic for Valentine's Day, but I can seriously see it as a beautiful center piece for a Fall Wedding, Thanksgiving Dinner Party, or a movie premier or something. OMG, for some reason, I think it totally works for a Jurassic Park movie premier!

Here are close-ups of the flowers and fillers in the arrangement!

Although I love flowers, I'm actually pretty clueless when it comes to flower names. I'll try my best to search up the names of each plant I used, but definitely leave a comment to correct me if I'm wrong! :)

Alright, so in the bouquet are:

1) Roses
2) Purple Statice (Limonium)
3) Coffee Beans
4) Baby Breathes
5) Leather Leaf Fern

I hope I got all the names right!

I seriously had so much fun making my first flower arrangement. So much fun that I discovered my hobby! Yay! haha It's actually a pretty big deal to me, since I haven't had a hobby for so many years! :) I've made 2 bouquets so far, so I'll try to share the other one in another entry. Seriously can't wait to make my next bouquet!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I'd love to know your hobby, so feel free to comment and let me know! :) Have a great day!

Exercising & Loving that Adrenaline Rush =)

So for those who know me, I've never been a fan of exercising. Besides dancing... which I've done so for literally half my life, I've always dreaded any type of activity that would lead to a break of sweat! LOL

I stopped dancing once I entered college, and seriously for over two years... I stopped being active and I guess kind of let myself go in that aspect of my life. It was this year that I decided to get myself back together. I couldn't stand the fact of me being out of breath after walking up two sets of stairs.. and yep, I decided to take a turn in my life. I felt extremely out of shape, and when I say out of shape, I don't mean how many pounds I weighed or what clothing size I fitted into. It was none of that... I just felt like I needed to become healthier.. and it just didn't make sense for a 21 year old to be physically less capable than my own grandma haha. Since my realization, my bestie and I have been exercising everyday during the weekend, and honestly... I'm surprised how in love I am with exercising. Haha and she's excited for me too! My best friend has always been one of the most athletic people I have known, and for the longest time I wasn't compatible with her in that aspect.. so it excites us both that we now have a hobby in common!

I always hear people talk about how amazing if feels having that adrenaline rush, and how they feel more clear minded and less stressed after exercising. For someone who's always dreaded exercising.. I have never really felt that way. Perhaps I did during the days I danced, but I felt that dancing was an art that I fell in love with rather than a stress reliever and health booster at that time for me.

It's been 5 months since I've been getting myself back together, and I seriously can't be happier about it! I'm finally able to understand the feeling people get when they get an adrenaline rush, and how effective exercising is. My exercise routine includes stretching, jump roping (500-1,000), running, and haha Blogilattes! (If you guys don't know what Blogilattes is... it's actually a youtube channel started by an amazing youtuber named Cassey Ho. She does these amazing work-out videos, and they're super duper fun and easy to follow along with!... well some of them are =P)

Work and life in general can be super stressful at times, but I've found a new hobby that I love that makes me feel better about myself and helps take away my stress! I'm so glad to have a bestie who pushes me and gets me going, and I can't wait to work out with her until we're old and wrinkly! LOL haha you know who you are! =)

For those who are stressed... try exercising! It's a piece of cake for some people, but if you're like me it'll take some determination... but it'll help relieve your stress though, I'm positive! =)

LookBook: HOT PINK DELIGHT

09.14.2013
HOT PINK DELIGHT

As many of us know, A-line skirts have been beyond popular!  Many people are wearing them... and I don't know what I was thinking about not trying on this trend until now!  I'll most likely write up another entry regarding my love for A-line skirts, but for now... all I have to say is that I'm absolutely in love with the trend, and I'm practically hooked! LOL =)

I had so much fun with today's outfit.  To me, Summer is all about simplicity!  It's the season where we honestly don't need to layer a lot of pieces on, and just let the simplicity of our basics shine! =)  Along with my black A-line skirt, I wore a shoulder cut-out blue and grey top that is crazily comfortable!

As for accessorize, I wore a cute silver heart pendant necklace from Pac Sun, and finished off my look with my new  pair of striking hot pink heels from Chromatic Gallerie! =)

Omgoodness... aren't the pink flowers beautiful?? (FYI: They match my shoes!)

HOT PINK HEELS: CHROMATIC GALLERIE

A-LINE SKIRT: ROSEBOWL FLEA MARKET

My all-time favorites for the Summer have always been short shorts, short skirts, or short dresses!  Summer's coming to an end in about a week, which is crazy, but I'm so excited to transition my favorites pieces for the cooler seasons!  =)  I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend, and I will talk to you guys real soon! =)

Summer 2013 Fashion Trend Inspiration Board: MAXI DRESSES

Summer Summer Summer!

As I have mentioned in my previous post, Summer is one of my favorite seasons! =)  And it just so happens that one of Summer 2013's most popular clothing trends is also one that I adore!!!  Can you guess which one I'm referring to?

MAXI DRESSES!

Lol... I've never been a huge fan of Maxi Dresses until this year.  For some reason, I've always had the impression that Maxi Dresses were too formal to be worn on a regular day, but I totally take that back!  It all depends on how you style the rest of your appearance with your dress that determines how formal or casual your outfit will appear!  And when I say the rest of your appearance, it includes makeup, accessories, jewelry, and hair!!

The reason why I love Maxi Dresses...is because they're so easy!  What do I mean by easy?  Instead of taking the time to think about what pieces to include into your outfit, all you'd have to do is slip on a Maxi Dress, and wallah!! you are ready to go (unless you want to take some time to match your dress with jewelry =)) ! lol  I think I've mentioned a billion times already...but I'm the type of gal who loves comfort!  I can't stand wearing things that are too tight and will have me feeling uncomfortable the entire day; therefore, Maxi Dresses are one of the greatest fashion inventions to me! =)  Besides them being easy to wear and match, they also look quite stunning on! =)

I've been a huge Lookbook.nu addict lately!  I love how much creativity and style each lookbook individual has ... and so with that being said, below is a collage with pictures that will hopefully give inspiration to those who want to style their Maxi Dresses for various occasions! =)

Yep, this is it to my Maxi Dress collage!  I'm absolutely in love with Maxi Dresses, and I can see myself wearing them for the rest of the Summer!  Do you guys have any Fashion Trends that you are absolutely in love with? haha if so, I'd love to know what they are! =)

WASTELAND - My Current Favorite Online Retail Store! =D

One day...I looked into my closet and thought to myself, "Wing.... you have way more than enough clothing. There are so many pieces in there that you don't even wear more than twice a year, perhaps not even once in the entire year... so why are you buying more clothing?"  I think this is a reality that many people face haha.  When I was younger,  I used to buy clothing like there was no tomorrow.  Ok ok I'm being a little overly dramatic here, but what I mean is...I used to buy clothing without thinking about whether I actually needed it or not.  And the thing about me loving fashion...is that my style always changes, which means what I liked last year might not be something that I'd currently wear...

Anyway, since my realization...I've seriously bought less clothing.  I realized that I could be using my money on something more important, and perhaps just saving the money up for more practical and useful things in the future!  Despite shopping less, haha there's no harm to online "window" shopping right (haha get it?  Using Window 7?  Sorry that was dumb LOL.)   There's no window that I'm actually looking through, but it's the same idea where I'm browsing but not buying!   So yep, that's exactly what I've been doing, and my current favorite online retail store is......Dun dun dun......

WASTELAND! Here: https://www.shopwasteland.com/

Below are some pieces that I am currently in love with & would love to share on my blog!  Check it out! =)

Evil Twin
Bruise Easy Babydoll
$108.00

I am absolutely in love with this dress.  Scary though...cause it's almost as expensive as my prom dress!  Anyway, I'm in the phase right now where I adore over sized garments, so this dress works perfectly!  What differs this from other dresses is seriously the unique tie-dye color as well as the black dipped bottom!  I haven't seen something quite as daring as this, and how nice it would be if I owned it! LOL

One Teaspoon
London Boys Call Playsuit
$158.00
https://www.shopwasteland.com/womens-new-dresses/One-Teaspoon/London-Boys-Cali-Playsuit/12031/

Alright, LOL, so this dress officially surpasses the price of my Senior Prom Dress!  It's super pricey, but I love it!  I love the shape of this dress.  It's tight enough to give the body some shape, but loose enough to exude comfort!  The front lacing is absolutely stunning, and I love the subtle yet stylish shoulder cut-outs!

Evil Twin
Bad Scene Dress
$108.00

Here's another dress from the Evil Twin.  So far the Evil Twin is my favorite brand when it comes to dresses that Wasteland carries.  I love this dress because of the print and color, and most of all because of the super flattering shape it provides!  This bustier dress with a sweetheart neck-line act likes a flattering corset that compliments our upper body, and a flared bottom that gives our look some "ooomf" LOL!  I love this dress!!!!

Stylestalker
Panthers Lace Dress
Originally: $128.00
Now: $89.89

To be honest...I have mixed feelings about this dress.  I think the peplum shape of the top is absolutely stunning...but I don't think it's something that'll compliment everyone.  Despite the nice shape, I think this dress is super duper dramatic.  The contrast between white and black already calls attention, but the super dramatic floral lace doubles the drama.  I think this dress is stunning on the model and she pulls it off..but I'm not sure how versatile this dress would be.  It looks amazing, but I think it'd be a little too dramatic for a casual day out, interview, or even an evening party.

Evil Twin
Ungrateful Life Tank
$65.00

Another item from Evil Twin!!! =D  My new fashion trend is.....TIE DYE! =)  I think tie dye is quite dramatic and some people might even see it as tacky, but who cares, I love it!  I don't have anything that's tie-dye but I do see myself getting my hands on some LOL!  Besides the pattern, something else that I like about the top is that it's cropped, which is super popular this year!  Though I favor this trend...I don't think I'll be able to wear cropped tops until I lose some of my belly!  haha

Cotton Candy Dream Top
$32.00

LOL this top matches the name perfectly!  It seriously reminds me of some sweet and yummy cotton candy! The vibrant colors are very pretty and eye catching, and not to mention it has a  Tie-dyed pattern!!!!  I love the style of the top, and it's actually pretty affordable compared to everything else in the store!  LOL  It's interesting how the Ungrateful Life Tank (Top: Above the Cotton Candy Dream Top), is more than double Cotton Candy Dream Top's price!

Striped Hot Shorts
$38.00
OMG how adorable are these hot pants?  I love the striped pattern, I love the colors, and more importantly I love how these pants have a high waist line & have slits in the front!  Slits are extremely popular...especially for next Spring, and I think the slits make the perfect finishing to these shorts!

Jamie Short
$38.00
These shorts are too awesome!  =)  hehe  It's interesting...cause I probably would have never guessed that I'd end up liking something like this.  I used to be a jean shorts fan, and would never really put any thought into trying pants like the Jamie Short.  I think the shorts are so fun!  The colors, like almost all the items I favored, are fun and colorful!  Again, like the pair of shorts above...I love how these shorts are high waisted!  haha and I think the black lace brings uniqueness to the shorts!  <3

Alright, so this is it to the Wasteland items that I am currently in love with! =) I've never actually been to an actual wasteland store, but I'm seriously aiming to visit their store(s) in the near future!  I heard their stores are split into 2 sections, 1 with clothing from brands their carry, and the 2nd section with thrift items that they purchased from other people.  I think that's pretty cool!  One thing that I love about thrift stores is that some of the most unique clothing can be found there, which minimizes that chances of other people owning the same item the buyer.  haha  Anyway, Wasteland carries some of the most unique and stylish street chic apparel I've seen, and their fashion style is something I seriously respect and love! =) <3!  I'm most likely not going to purchase anything...but it's just nice to share what I love on my blog! =)

My Temptation & Thoughts On Spending $1000 on a Designer Bag!

Should I or Should I not?

I remember myself posting a blog entry last year.  It was one of my very first entries.  (Well...that was dumb..LOL there can only be one first entry..but what I mean is, it was a blog entry that I posted earlier on ago.)  I talked about my opinions on spending a ton of money on super expensive branded bags...and for some reason that blog entry disappeared!  Like I can't find it anymore...and I don't know what happened to it!  Could it be that I accidentally deleted it?  I'm sure I didn't though...

Anyway, enough of that.

Since that blog entry doesn't exist anymore, I'll just briefly state my opinion on that topic.  I'm personally not the type of person to splurge a lot of money on a single item.  I don't like paying a lot of money on things that I can probably get for a lot cheaper.  And for designer purses...like high-end designer purses, ...I guess I just can't see myself ever paying a thousand or more dollars for a purse!  This is just my opinion though!  I really respect people who have the money to splurge on these luxury items!  And even for those who are tighter on money, but have saved and saved and saved their money to buy a designer bag, I respect them too, cause they worked hard for it, and it's none of my business how people spend their money!  lol

Despite what I believe...it was yesterday that I felt a little hypocritical about my beliefs.... I was shopping around Nordstrom yesterday...browsing the designer bags like usual...cause they only carry designer bags LOL...and I think my heart skipped a bit when I saw this baby....picture below....

This Rebecca Minkoff bag...is absolutely breathtaking! OMGoodness! The precise name of this bag is THE REBECCA MINKOFF 'CUPID' SATCHEL...and it costs $495.00 without tax!!!!! It comes in the color MINT (which is displayed above!!! So pretty! That's the one I fell in love with!! <3), Soft Grey, and Almond ( I think).

Here's an image of the Almond Colored Cupid Satchel.  (I personally think that the almond color satchel is much more versatile, as compared to the mint colored one!  It's a color that'll match with a lot of outfits..)

And that's how the Soft Grey Colored Cupid Satchel looks like!

Anyway, my point is... when I saw the Mint Colored Rebecca Minkoff Satchel...I found myself in love with it!  It looked absolutely gorgeous!  But it's when I flipped the price tag around, and saw that it cost $495.00, that my heart shattered! (I'm being dramatic)

I think there are so many temptations in life.... such as this bag that I am currently in love with.  It brakes me heart...how such beautiful objects are so freekin pricey!  Seriously... $500 might seem like nothing to some people, but to others, it's enough money to pay for their rent and keep them alive!

When I become a Multi-Millionaire one day, LOL, and happen to buy a super expensive designer bag...then I'll make sure to donate at least the same amount of money out!, or else I'm gonna feel so guilty (and cause it's the right thing to do! =) )

Anyway, enough about purses.... Here's an image of my newly painted nails! =)

Haha my dad thought my nails were a little weird, but I loved them!  Yay to crackling nail polish!  The one I used is from Sephora (O.P.I.)!  I love it so much!  It makes my nails look effortlessly stylish!  =)  Who ever created this IS a genius! =D

Review On: Revlon Renewist Lipstick!

So today, I will be sharing my thoughts on a few lipsticks from Revlon's Renewist Lipstick Collection! =D Yay!

First and foremost, I would just like to mention that these are my current favorite lipsticks!  I've never been a lipstick fan.  I'm not sure why, but I guess as of a few years ago...when I was still in high school, I even envisioned myself never using lipstick!  haha well those days are gone, and now I'm a lipstick addict!  jk jk lol.  Anyway, lets get started! =)

Alright, so here is an image I put together (pat on that back =)), on the 4 lipstick colors from Revlon's Renewist Collection that I bought!  I'm not sure if you guys can see the names that I included in the picture, but either ways, the colors that I bought include (right to left): Lush Peony 080, Coming Up Roses 120, Cherry Desirable 210, and Plum Luck 160!

Alright, so let the Review Begin! =D

First and foremost again, lets talk about the packaging!  My first impression of this lipstick wasn't the best!  It's just natural for humans to primarily be attracted to an objects appearance, and I think as compared to other lipsticks from Revlon's Collection, the packaging for the Renewist Collection was lacking.  Here are some images of other Revlon Lipsticks.

IMAGES FROM GOOGLE.COM

It's only my opinion though... regarding the packaging of Revlon's Renewist Lipstick Collection not being up to par, but what do you guys think?

Anyway, despite the packing, I was attracted to the lipstick, because it had something that other Revlon Lipsticks didn't have!  It had a moisture core!

Do you guys see it?
IMAGE FROM GOOGLE.COM

A constant problem I have with lipsticks, is that I don't feel like they give my lips enough moisture.  I don't think anyone...including yourself, wants to see anyone with extremely cracked colored lips.  Lipstick is supposed to add color to people's lips, it's supposed to be pretty, sexy, elegant, all those good terms, and when a person's lips are super dry, the potential outcome that lipsticks can bring just isn't there!  Therefore, I was determined to try this lipstick out!

The result was amazing!  My lips felt very moisturized after using the lipsticks, as I will display pictures later on the post as proof! LOL

For those who don't know what the Moisture Core is... The Moisture Core, is actually a ProCollogen Core, that immediately boost your lips to up to 80% of moisture!  In result, the user will have a smoother looking and of course more moisturizing lip and lip application!  Pretty good huh?

Lets take a look at the ones I bought!

1) LUSH PEONY 080

This is how the color looks on me!  Everyone's lip color is different, so the color should look slightly different for each person.  I usually prefer redder toned lipsticks, but I actually really liked this color.  I felt extremely girly wearing it, and I was surprised that I was kinda able to pull it off! LOL

Here's a close-up of the lipstick itself!  The picture of me wearing it actually turned out very similar to the color itself!

Swatch of Peony Lush 080!  Looks a little redder than the actual lipstick color...probably the lighting!  Sorry!

2) COMING UP ROSES 120

This has got to be my second favorite color out of these 4!  I really like Coming Up Roses, because it was the least dramatic out of the bunch, and had a mixture of orange to the red.  The color was quite calming compared to the rest, and I think it matched very well with my smokey eye!

Here's a close-up of the lipstick!  I think this lip color is one that could be worn with any make-up and outfit!  I love it, and it's definitely my everyday color!

As you guys can probably tell, it has an orange undertone, and is much more similar to our natural lip color as opposed to Peony Lush 080!

3) CHERRY DESIRABLE 210!!

Cherry Desirable 210 is my absolute favorite out of the bunch!  I love the dramatic outcome it gives, and I feel like this color compliments me the most! =)  Ahhh  I can't get over how much I love it!  There are days when I don't put my make-up on, and right when I apply Cherry Desirable on my lips, my face just immediately looks more put together!!! Because the color it so strong, it gives a somehow concealing affect, and brings people's attention to my lips instead of to the blemishes on my face! =)

Close Up of Cherry Desirable 210!!!!!

Color Swatch of Cherry Desirable 210!

4) PLUM LUCK 160

I actually like how I look with this color in the picture, but for some reason I just end up using this color the least out of the others!  I was surprised with the outcome!  I expected a very dark raspberry vampy color, but it ended up more red than I had envisioned!

Close-up!  Don't be mistakened!  I do like this color, I just don't love it lol.

And Here's a swatch of it! ! =)

Alright, so here is a duplicate of the first image above!  So to sum things up, these are the four colors I bought from Revlon's Renewist Lipstick Collection!  I love them, and I would totally recommend them!  I'm not sure if these are still in store, but if not, they can always be found on ebay.com or amazon.com!

If you guys are looking for a good quality lipstick that is affordable and moisturizing, then Revlon's Renewist Lipsticks are the way to go!  There a many more colors besides the ones I bought, and I'm actually excited to get a hold of them!

As you guys were probably able to tell from the pictures, my lips looked quite moisturized and smooth after applying the lipsticks!  The colors were pretty opaque, as opposed to some lipsticks colors that just don't show up as well!  I love these lipsticks so much!  As of last month, I actually went out to buy another lipstick of Cherry Desirable, because I liked the color so much, and was scared that I'd be too late if I waited any longer!

I hope this review was beneficial, and feel free to ask any questions! =)
